About me
We wanted to stop using fossil fuels but the cost meant we waited and luckily the new grant was a great help. We already installed solar panels and have an electric car so are big electricity users but can buy most overnight.

Installing the system

We are lucky that the house is well insulated and so we needed no new radiators so the grant covered almost the entire cost.
Installation took 4 days. We applied for planning permission as the HP is near our neighbours but the rules changed so that was a waste of time - in te end the wait was 8 months from survey.

Living with a heat pump

The system works quite differently to gas and keeping it unchanged due a day or two helps it to settle down and work efficiently.
