My wife and I are retired. Our main motivation for installing a heat pump was to reduce our carbon emissions, but we also wanted our house to be warm, comfortable and as cheap as possible to heat. I am happy to share my experience with anyone who might be interested in installing any of the technologies we have installed.

Installing the system

Our heat pump installation was the last in a series of clean energy updates, including the installation of solar panels and a battery, as well as upgrades to our home insulation.

Living with a heat pump

It works better than we expected. Nobody told us how warm and comfortable the house would be with a heat pump running almost all day, compared to a gas boiler. And we have achieved good efficiency and reduced our heating bills considerably.
