Vaillant air source heat pump in a pre 1920 property

I had the ASHP installed as my old oil boiler was needing changed and my calculations on a heat pump showed it should work out cheaper. I also was keen to move away from oil. I already had PV so it made complete sense. The install was cheaper than a boiler due to the grant and running costs are much lower. My PV and new battery make the payback even quicker.

Installing the system

Installed a 7kW Vaillant in summer 2024.
Took 4 days to install and only needed one radiator change.

Living with a heat pump

House is always warm, which was not the case before. Different experience (constant rather than on/off) from my old boiler, but once set up it just runs without too much tinkering.
