Aira air source heat pump in a pre 1920 property

Mike

Hi, I’m Mike. I’m a green tech enthusiast, and I’ve been working to reduce my family’s carbon footprint. From electric vehicles to solar panels and now a heat pump. Switching to a heat pump can be one of the biggest steps toward lowering your families carbon emissions. I’m happy to share my experience and help others gain the knowledge and confidence to make the switch to low-carbon heating.

Installing the system

Heat pump install in 1899 Victorian dethatched property. External insulation on half the property and Solar installed 2 year prior to installing the heat pump. Install took a week. The heat pump is located at the the rear of the property with new pipework running through the WC to the new cylinder location in the utility room. Old boiler removed from the loft.

Living with a heat pump

The house has been more cosy this winter due to the continuous heating that heat pumps benefits from. Similar running costs this winter but the house has been warmer and the winter has been colder than the last 2 winters. Near silent running in the house compared to the noisy boiler that used to be annoying at night above our heads in the loft
