Daikin air source heat pump in a post 2003 property

Matthew

We are interested in making our home future proof and green but also lowering bills. We have had solar panels with batteries installed and have an EV plus a plug-in hybrid, so a heat pump seemed a logical next step especially as it cost us only £300 after the government grant was applied.

Installing the system

The only change we made which was optional for us was changing our gas hob to induction, so that we could disconnect from gas entirely. We already had a water tank in a closet which was replaced. The install took less than 4 days in total and it was minimally disruptive, we were able to carry on working from home during the process.

Living with a heat pump

So far, it works as expected, the house is warm and we have sufficient hot water and our energy bills have been lower, but it is still early days for us.
