Octopus air source heat pump in a post 2003 property

we are a family of 3 plus a dog and a cat. we got a heat pump for a number of reasons the first was i wanted gas out of the house, when i started looking into electric heating options the first thing i found was infrared heationg panels, after a bit more research i decided they werent for us. that lead me to heat pumps and after about 6 months of reading and watching youtube videos about all that is wrong with and great about heat pumps i decided that I had enough information to say it would probably work well for us. initially i got a survey dont by a local comapny who quoted £5,500 I then saw that Octopus were giving quotes and I was already with them so decided to give them a quick look. they came back at £543 for the install all inclusive, which felt too good to be true so I called them and they knocked an extra 20% off. this lead to another survey and I was sold. we would get rid of gas and help make the planet a little greener and with the solar we should be able to reduce our bills (which we seem to have done)

Installing the system
Octopus completed our survey and install and it was really good, the only issue we had was the scaffolding company they used were very reluctant to collect their scaffolding after the installation was complete. However Octopus sorted it when I contacted them about it as we have a small child who had fallen over it in the garden. again due to the scaffolding comapny not delivering on the right day things took a little longer than expected but when it did arrive the guys worked hard to get things back on track. they did say that they were not planning to rush anything to get it finished by a certian day which i was happyt with as i'd prefer it done correctly and late than rushed and wrong.
Living with a heat pump
We have solar and a battery as well and in comparrison to last march where our bill for both electric and gas was £120 (reduced to £100 as we sold some electric back to the grid) to this year £68 (down to £54 as we sold £14 back to the grid) and no gas standing charge. basically in a nutshell we are more comfortable and paying less.
