I am 74 and a widower. I decided to have a heat pump fitted as I am concerned about climate change, I have water and electric solar panels and am having batteries fitted. I am passionate about our environment and want to encourage other people to consider what can be done.

Installing the system

The property is 14 years old so the standard of insulation is high. I also have PV cells and Thermal cells (water) on the roof. The installation took 5 days but with little disruption inside the house mainly radiators and the cylinder.

Living with a heat pump

It was installed in April 2025 and the weather has been warm so it is a little early to say.
