I have a keen interest in having an efficient and comfortable home to live in. I appreciate the heat pump technology and the potential savings it offers, for the right house. I am happy to explain the potential pro's & con's of having a heat pump installed. It's mostly good news but in all honesty it wouldn't be suitable for everyone/every home at this time BUT for the right house and if you are prepared to adapt to how a heat pump works best, they are great!

Installing the system

My house was built around 5 years ago and has an EPC B rating.

Living with a heat pump

The house always feel warm primarily due to how the heat pump works best, which is more 'low & slo' heating, i.e. it runs fairly constant during the very cold periods rather than my previous 'on/off' setup with my former gas boiler. Cost wise it's not too different to using gas but it's much more comfortable and during the summer periods it will cost very little to run with no gas standing charge!
